Los Angeles Jobs: The Fastest Growing Careers in LA

The top fastest growing careers in Los Angeles all have one thing in common a college degree is required. Whether you have a veterinary degree or one in computer science, your services will be needed in L.A. in the years to come. The top careers run the gamut from network systems and data communications analysts to pharmacy technicians, with veterinary technicians and home health aides also on the list.

To become a pharmacy technician, you have to have completed a certification program. Pharmacy techs assist the pharmacist by dealing with customers, verifying prescriptions before they are dispensed, and compiling a short medical history of each customer to make sure that the medications given do not have adverse reactions to each other. The annual median wage of a pharmacy technician in Los Angeles is $34,860. That breaks down to an hourly salary of $16.67.

Home health aides and occupational therapists are also in demand. The average home health aide makes $20,410 per year, whereas an occupational therapist makes $83.200 in that same span of time. The difference is in the degree. An occupational therapist has a four-year degree and must become certified. A home health aide tends to be a nursing student who is still in training.

On the other side of things, veterinary technicians work with animals, not people. A veterinary technician makes $34,460 a year, and has to have completed a training program. Veterinary technicians help the veterinarian with tasks like taking x-rays and giving medications to the animals.

Several of the in-demand careers in Los Angeles require a degree in computer science. Network systems and data communications analysts draw an average salary of $69.250. Networks systems analysts design and build computer networks. Once the network is built, they test it and refine it. If something goes wrong with that network, they are the ones responsible for repairing it.

Computer software engineers are also needed. They are the people who come up with the idea for a program or game and then they design and build it out of code. The average salary for a computer software engineer in Los Angeles is $87.520.

Dont forget the other quickly growing career in the Los Angeles area. This one is perhaps the most important one of all that of a teacher. Post-secondary teachers, also known as professors, teach at colleges. Some colleges require that a professor has a PhD in the field that he or she is teaching in, while other schools, like trade schools or community colleges, only feel that a Bachelors or Masters degree is necessary. The average salary of a post-secondary teacher is $81,680, but it varies slightly depending on the specialty.

Middle school, also known as junior high, teachers are one of the top-growing career fields. The students range in age from 10 to 14, depending on the school and the size of the district. Usually middle school teachers have one particular subject that they have specialized in, but depending on the grade level, that may not be the case.

The average middle school teacher has at least a Bachelors degree, and has passed the needed certification tests. Some school districts require that the teacher is continuing with their education, either working towards a Masters degree or further certification. Salaries for middle school teachers range from $59.120 to $58,140.

If you have a teaching degree, a medical certification or a computer science degree, you are lucky enough to belong to one of the fastest growing careers in Los Angeles. In the years to come, your services will be needed more than ever. Consider that when you are deciding what to study in school.

Nursing is one of the hottest fields for career-oriented people. Nursing stands second only to technology as the field with the best jobs. More and more employment opportunities are available as the population ages and more people demand health care. Becoming a Registered Nurse, or RN, is a fabulous opportunity for you to provide for your needs as well as care for others needs. If health care and serving people interests you, becoming a RN is the best option for you. Here are 5 reasons why you should choose nursing as a career.

Even if you have just qualified as a RN, you can earn above $50,000 as a starting salary. As you continue to progress and gain experience, your salary will go up as well and you could live a comfortable life by just serving people.

. Job Security

Nursing is one of the most secure professions and you will not have to fear that you would lose your job. In the ongoing recession, being a RN has been a safe bet for people, as health care is one industry where the demand has not fallen and jobs are always available.

Bath Salt Ingredient Properties Health and Beauty Benefits

Bath Salt Ingredient Properties Health and Beauty Benefits This article is a companion to my guide to making homemade bath salts. Here you can learn what each of the potential bath salt ingredients are and how to decide which to use for the sort of bath salts you wish to make. With familiarity with the properties of all of the ingredients, you will know what to put in a skin care bath salt mix, what to put in a relaxation bath salt blend, or what to include in a detox formula.
health and beauty
To learn how to make bath salts at home and learn the basic recipe telling how much of each of these ingredients you should use, be sure to click over to How to Make Bath Salts Guide and Recipe. I alEpsom Salts (magnesium sulfate) do wonders for you in a bath. They are best known for their ability to sooth sore muscles; this is because the magnesium sulfate is a muscle relaxant, draws toxins from the body, and is also a sedative and regulator for the ner vous system. Epsom salts reduce swelling. T health and beauty hey also act as a natural emollient and help exfoliate the skin. The magnesium also helps the body and mind relax because studies have shown that it raises serotonin levels (causing calm and mood-elevation), lowers blood pressure, and lowers the effects of adrenaline. Epsom salts, if used regularly (at least three times a week), can also elevate the body's energy level. For more information on Epsom salts, see the Epsom Salt Industry Council.

Sea Salts ~ Unlike table salt, which is highly refined and has been striped of most of its nutrients and minerals, sea salts are naturally high in minerals that are beneficial to the skin and body. They are also generally less processed than table salt. Make sure to find a brand that is high quality and not highly processed (look for sea salt that is course ground and not bleached). Because the minerals in sea salt reflect the qualities of the s ea or region that they were gathered from, certain sorts of sea salts are considered better for bath salts than others. Most highly praised are Dead Sea Salts and Celtic Sea Salts. For better prices, buy in bulk.
Baking Soda ~ Baking soda helps wash away oil and perspiration, and it also neutralizes acids on the skin. Baking soda is especially great for soothing skin rashes, and can even help chronic problems like eczema and psoriasis. Some also claim that it helps counter the negative effects of radiation (whether from the sun or from x-rays, cancer treatments, and the like). It certainly helps a sunburn!
health and beauty
On a side note, where I have found baking soda the most useful is its ability to drain the lymphatic system of toxins and disease. A neuromuscular massage therapist taught me about this quality in baking soda, and it has been the most valuable advice I have ever received for staying healthy. I now take a baking soda bath as soon as possible after exposure to an illness or when I get the first hint that I may be getting sick. When I do this, the illness never develops. It is also very important to take a baking soda bath after a massage that may h ave released some toxins from the muscles or the lymph nodes. Because of this, it is a great idea to use two, three, or four times the amount of baking soda in a bath salt mix that is specifically for detoxification or illness prevention.

Glycerin ~ Glycerin (or glycerine) is byproduct of soap and candle making (and also, more recently, a byproduct of some biofuels. Used in bath salts, it is a very effective skin-softening agent. If you are making a bath salt mix that is particularly formulated for softening and conditioning the skin, glycerin is a good ingredient to include.

Ground Oatmeal ~ Oatmeal is another wonderful skin softener and soother. It is especially helpful for soothing itchy skin rashes like poison ivy, allergic reactions, or eczema.

Essential Oils ~ Essential Oils are wonderful for scenting the bath salts, giving a strong scent that will not fade. They are also high-quality oils that are less likely to have the harmful eff ects that can come with some perfumes and scents. The biggest benefit of essential oils, of course, is their aromatherapy qualities. You can match a particular essential oil to each bath salt, depending on what you plan for the bath salt to help. For instance, lavender essential oil would be perfect for a relaxation or muscle soothing bath salt mix. Mint essential oil would be great for an energizing bath salt. Eucalyptus essential oil would be wonderful in a cold and flu bath salt blend. For more information on which essential oils to use for particular effects, take a look at this list.

Be very careful not to use too much essential oil in bath salts, because when they are too concentrated, essential oils will irritate the skin. Also, be especially sure not to use any of the hazardous essential oils in a bath salt mixture. See the list at the bottom of this page for specific oils to avoid when you have a particular health condition or are pregnant, and also be s ure not to use any of the hazardous oils! For more essential oil cautions and safety information, take a look at the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy.

Dried Flowers or Herbs ~ Whether simply using flower petals for their scent and beauty or herbs for their medicinal qualities, adding dried flowers and herbs to a bath salt mix gives your bath salts the feel of luxury more than anything else. Having flower petals float around you in your bath also gives bathing an extra sense of romance and indulgence. Be sure to break the leaves or petals up into small enough pieces that they will not clog a drain. Try chamomile or lavender flowers for relaxation, mint for energizing, or rose petals for their scent. Check out this article on bath herbs by Cynthia Andal for more ideas. This article also has a few ideas.

Coloring ~ Coloring is very simple. Some essential oils will color bath salts, but if you would like something a little less subtle, simpl y use food coloring. I use red and blue to create purple for a lavender bath, a little green for a mint bath, some yellow for chamomile, or red to make pink bath salts that are rose scented. so have a specific Lavender Aromatherapy Bath Salts Recipe for relaxation here.

Reason Why People Used Epsom Natural Bath Salts

Natural bath salts have long been used during baths for medicinal or beautifying properties. There are many different kinds of natural bath salts but the most common are Epsom salts. There are many reasons why people used these kinds of salts.

The use of these goes back several decades and all over the world as well. Epsom salts tends to absorb water even from the air which makes it a bit difficult to weight accurately. These natural bath salts are quite useful both in medicine and cosmetic products and uses.

Uses of Epsom Natural Bath Salts

Epsom salts is the most used and studied form of bath salts available. It is a chemical compound that contains magnesium and sulfate. It is not actually used in its pure from in bath salts but also mixed with other substances. It is commonly used in flotation therapy as well where the salt content of the water is more dense due to the presence of salt, thus encouraging floating. These natural bath salts are also used to soothe tired feet. The salts reduce water absorption of the skin thus reducing the prune effect at the ends of the fingers and toes. Magnesium sulfate that is absorbed through the skin can also help reduce inflammation.

Another use for Epsom natural bath salts can be to treat the water for the health of fish. Some fish can contract what is called dropsy by people who raise and sell fish. It is an appearance of the fish's scales sticking out of its body due to a heavily swollen abdomen. Many describe it as a pine cone like appearance of the scales, especially around the abdomen. In actuality, it is the fish's internal organs that are affected by this condition. Epsom natural bath salts can help encourage the fish's body to expel the unnecessary fluids which deposit in the abdomen.

Using Epsom salts and other natural bath salts during bathing can help rub excess or dead skin from the body as well as give mild exfoliation to our skin. Some other natural bath salts encourage healing of damaged skin but they should not be applied directly into the skin but dissolved in water. Applying directly to broken skin can cause serious pain and stinging.

Natural bath salts are actually als o used for the convenience of not looking 'pruny' while bathing. This is due to the fact that natural bath salts reduce the absorption of water through the skin or osmosis.
